AlphaESS is certified by the most reputable electrical safety organisations in the world. Alpha ESS has the highest rated CE certification for safety. Alpha ESS has CE marking, indicating conformity with health, safety, and environmental protection standards for products allowed for sale in Europe. CE Certification ensures that the product does not pose any threat or hazard to the surrounding and is very unlikely to cause an accident.
AlphaESS is certified for electrical, physical and chemical safety. In addition to CE, Alpha ESS also holds International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) certificate. For conformance to IEC-62619 standard for Lithium Battery pack safety and IEC 62619 for cell level safety. Alpha ESS is also certified for safety by Verband der Elektrotechnik (VDE) Germany.
Safety is our prime focus while designing systems. That is why we only use reliable and sustainable Lithium iron phosphate cells (LFP), considered to be the most durable and safest Lithium-ion chemistry. Lithium iron phosphate is also the only battery material that occurs as a natural compound and does not contain any toxic heavy metals. Metal Can Housing
We use Metal Can housing for our Lithium series batteries. Therefore, providing the highest physical protection by having a millimetre thick casing on each cell. Within the realm of even highly abnormal physical abuse the metal withstands it. Metal cans provide highly superior protection and lifetime in comparison to all three of its rival options i.e. polymer pouches, plastic cells and small cylinders.
AlphaESS energy management system (EMS) is the central control of the entire system. EMS decides UPS or Self Consumption mode with its different programmable logics. Additionally is ensures that the software will not allow overcharging rather, when the load is fully supplied and the batteries are charged it will export all surplus electricity to the Grid.
Each Alpha ESS battery module comes with a battery management system (BMS). This is the front line software defence against electrical abuse. BMS commands state of charge of each module and shows it on the display. It also stops the battery from over or undercharging. With the chemistry of LFP both under and overcharging will balance charges across the system to improve harmonization and make sure stress is balanced between all three.
The system exposes no wires, vents or emit any fumes and the body of the equipment is grounded, therefore it is touch safe and can be installed in areas frequented by children or toddlers.
